The New York
State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation announced that a
Request for Proposals (RFP) has been released for Niagara Falls State Park.
The RFP
seeks to identify a qualified private sector partner to continue operation of the Niagara Adventure
Theater in the Orin Lehman Visitor Center as well as to continue the targeted
marketing and sale of the Niagara USA Discovery Pass to out-of-market tours and
groups. There is no mandate that the space continue to operate as a traditional
theater as new and innovative ideas are welcome. The Term of the RFP is
three years with the option to extend for two additional years commencing
approximately January 2017 and terminating December 2019. Request the full RFP
by contacting Concessions@parks.ny.gov or download it from
the NY Contract Reporter at nyscr.ny.gov.
Niagara
Falls State Park is the nation's oldest state park and hosts over 8 million
visitors a year and is also home to the Cave of the Winds and Maid of the Mist
attractions. The theater currently shows a movie based on the legends and myths
of Niagara Falls but the RFP encourages creative suggestions for the space.
