This event offers three starting points for a hike that will
all end with a delicious lunch and campfire celebration at the York Landing
Parking Area at 12:15 pm. All hikes will showcase unique views of farmland,
forest, and the Genesee River. Piffard, Rt 63 – Yard of Ale restaurant parking
lot (3226 Genesee St, Piffard 14533) – hike north 2.8 miles, Fowlerville, Fowlerville Rd (coordinates:
42.891654, -77.823686) – hike south 2.6 miles, York, York Landing Parking Area (coordinates:
42.864631, -77.851023) – hike north/south
The hikes range from 2 to 6 miles and are open to all ages

Genesee Land Trust invites people of all ages and abilities
to kick off the New Year with a special cocoa toast (bring mug) to celebrate the return of the fisher to Brookdale
Preserve. The fisher, a key member of the forest ecosystem, was once nearly
hunted to extinction but is now making a comeback thanks to conservation
efforts. This event will feature a stroll along the Genesee Valley Greenway
State Park trail, where you'll have the opportunity to search for signs of the
fisher while learning more about this fascinating tree-climbing critter. The hike is 2-4 miles round trip, with the option to
go up to 4 miles (2 miles to the scenic double-arched stone culvert, then 2
miles back). This family-friendly event allows participants to move
at their own pace and for as long or short as they like. Be a part of the statewide Martin Luther King Jr. Food
