Beacon Hill Trail
A Hudson Valley favorite, a wealth of incredible scenery is the reward for hikers exploring this park preserve and its network of
trails. The park sits atop the Shawangunk Ridge with high cliffs that overlook the valley to the east. The Beacon Hill Trail offers a
shady, meandering carriageway for a mile until you reach the panoramic view at Beacon Hill. The jaw-dropping vistas encompass
the Catskills to the left, rock formation immediately in front, and the Taconic Hills of Connecticut and Massachusetts to the right.
Minnewaska State Park also features numerous waterfalls, three crystalline sky lakes, cliff-edge views, world-class rock
climbing and 33 miles of carriageways and 25 miles of footpaths on which to bike, walk, hike and simply enjoy, all within an hour
and a half drive from New York City. Other suggested trails at the park include Castle Point and Gertrude's Nose.
