Selkirk Shores State Park

Skip Navigation LinksHome : State Parks : Selkirk Shores State Park

Swimming is not allowed at Selkirk Shores State Park.  The former swimming beach will require a comprehensive waterfront evaluation, design, and reconstruction project before this activity could return to the park.  There are currently no plans or funding in place for this project.

Campers may swim free of charge at Sandy Island Beach State Park which is open 11am-7pm weekends and holidays beginning Memorial Day through Labor Day and daily mid-June through Labor Day. Sandy Island is located 7 miles from Selkirk Shores.

Selkirk Shores State Parks' campsites overlook a bluff on Lake Ontario. In addition to spectacular sunsets over one of the Great Lakes, visitors can expect outstanding fishing. Small boats can be launched from the Pine Grove site into the Salmon River, larger boats should launch from the Mexico Point Boat Launch on the Little Salmon River.
