Bethpage State Park is best known for its five world-class golf courses, including the world-renowned Black Course which was the site of the U.S. Open Championship in 2002 and 2009. Visitors also flock to the park to use the park's picnic facilities, playing fields, tennis courts, bridle paths, hiking and biking trails and cross-county skiing trails.

Bethpage State Park houses a restaurant and catering facilities, a Golf Pro Shop and driving range.

Hours of Operation

  • Old Bethpage Equestrian Center: Horse Rentals, (boarding), year round, light hours - conditions permitting.
    Stable located adjacent to park property on Winding Road.
  • Tennis (closed from 8/20 and reopens 9/1)

    Outdoor Court - Weather permitting.
    7 days per week. April through October. 7 am - 7 pm.

    Indoor & Outdoor - Weather permitting.
    7 am - 11 am and 2-3 pm Wkdays/7 am - 10 am Sat. - Sun. & Holidays.
    Singles may take only 1 hour. Doubles may take 1 1/2 hours when players are waiting.

    Indoor - Hard & Clay - Available year round.

    Winter Hours:
    M-Th. 7 am - 10:30 pm.
    F. 7 am - 8:30 pm.
    Sat.-Sun. 7 am - 7 pm.

    Summer Hours:
    Mon. - Fri. 7 am - 7 pm.
    Sat. - Sun. 7 am - 3 pm.

    Black Course is closed from 8/8 and is scheduled to reopen 9/1
    All other golf courses closed from 8/20 and reopen 9/1
  • Picnic Area: Available year round. Vehicle entry fee applies. (Closed 8/15 and reopens 9/1)
  • Sleigh Riding & Cross Country Skiing: Available with snow cover. 12/1 - 3/31.
