Join the Friends of Max V. Shaul and Mine Kill State Parks in celebrating the third annual I Love My Park Day! There will be three different activities occurring throughout the day.
Project 1: 10 AM - 12 PM
Volunteers will assist in planting donated flowers, shrubs and trees along the park entrance, around the cabin, other buildings and other designated locations. All ages are welcome and it is advised that those participating bring gardening gloves.
Project 2: 10 AM - 12 PM
Volunteers will spruce up park perimeters (around 1.5 miles in total), or can also join a team of helpers near the newly constructed Panther Creek nature trail across Route 30. This project is limited to volunteers who are 13 years or older. Proper attire, such as long pants, hiking boots, is highly recommended, along with garden gloves, water, and tools. Basic tools will be provided by the park.
Project 3: 1 PM - 3 PM
This acitivty will involve the installation of a chain link fence around the recently improved baseball field and park play area. Suited for those ages 13 and older. Volunteers should bring work gloves/garden gloves.
