A State Park naturalist will lead visitors on a leisurely beach walk to an area where up to four species of seals can be observed. Along the way, there will be opportunities to see many winter birds and to explore marine geology. The walk is approximately 3 miles and will take 2-3 hours to complete.

Please dress appropriately, and wear comfortable footwear for hiking. Binoculars are recommended. Meet at the Montauk Point Lighthouse Grill and concession stand 10 minutes prior to the start time.

Reservations are required. Fee: $4.00 per adult 19 and older; $3.00 for children ages 3-18; and children 3 and under are free. To make reservations or for more information, please call (631) 668-5000.

I Love My Park Day

Join us at Montauk Point State Park to celebrate the fourth annual I Love My Park Day! I Love My Park Day is an exciting statewide event to improve and enhance New York's parks and historic sites and bring visibility to the entire park's system and its needs.

Volunteers will complete a beach clean-up of the coastline in Montauk Point and Camp Hero State Parks.

We will also be pruning and cutting back the 4-Wheel Drive Access Roads to the beach for improved vehicle access.

This event welcomes those of all ages to participate, and we ask volunteers to please bring water and tools such as pruning shears, hand saws, lopers.

2015 Montauk Surf Fishing Classic

A fishing tournament for the largest Striped Bass and/or Bluefish. All areas must be accessible by foot or by wading. The awards ceremony takes place at the end of the tournament.

Location: Waters from the western most tip of Napeague State Park, east.

Award Ceremony: Montauk Point State Park at 1:00pm on Sunday, 9/27

Fee: $15.00 per participant
