On this hilly, 2 mile walk, we will study the park's social, economic,architectural, and political history.

RESERVATIONS are required for most programs. Call the number listed with each park to make reservations. Reservations will be accepted starting two weeks prior to each program for all facilities.

Fees: $4.00 per adult, $3.00 for children ages3 - 17, Children under 3 are free. Vehicle Use Fees are due upon arrival during the feecollection season (Vehicle use fees vary among the parks).

I Love My Park Day

Join us at Caumsett State Historic Park Preserve to celebrate the fourth annual I Love My Park Day! I Love My Park Day is an exciting statewide event to improve and enhance New York's parks and historic sites and bring visibility to the entire park's system and its needs.

Interested volunteers should please meet at the main parking lot by the toll booth. Projects at this park are appropriate for ages 13 & older.

Project 1: Invasive Weed Pull
From 9:30am-12pm, participants will hand pull invasive plants, including Mile-A-Minute. Bittersweet vines will also be cut. Volunteers are asked to wear long pants, sturdy footwear, and a shirt with sleeves to protect arms. Please bring garden gloves and clippers for cutting thick woody vines.

Project 2: Beach Clean-Up
From 10am-12pm, participants will help with beach clean-up. Interested volunteers are asked to please bring garden gloves, and to wear sun screen and a hat.

While questions are most welcome, there will be no formal naturediscussion during this 6-mile, hilly, moderately paced hike, thusaffording walkers the opportunity for uninterrupted relaxing andsocializing. Bring lunch and drinking water. Participants willchoose our route and determine if and when to stop for lunch. For reasons of safety, no children under 18 years of age are permitted to attend.

Join us for a slow, five-mile walk through fields and forest, on our wayto a leisurely study of salt marsh life. Because we will travel about 5miles, we recommend that you bring drinking water. Old canvas shoesor comfortable waterproof boots are also suggested.

Discover the amazing life of a butterfly. Giggle through a funpresentation with some surprises. Afterwards, we will take a walk tosearch for these beautiful creatures. We will loan nets, books, andtemporary cages.
