Welcome the year's longest day with 90 minutes of yoga high above the Hudson. Each sun salutation will commemorate one year that Scenic Hudson has been working to protect the valley's natural treasures. Meet at the Walkway's center bump. (We recommend parking on the Highland side, where there are ample spaces. Please bring water, sunblock, a towel, friends and a yoga mat if you have one. The yoga will be led by Cassandra Currie of Holistic Cassandra.

Join Lucky Orphan Horse Rescue in raising awareness for rescued horses. Learn about horses and volunteering. Horses will be at both sides of the bridge for peting and loving.

For the first time, Discover Hudson Valley Riders will have the option to challenge themselves with a noncompetitive time trial along the 33, 50, 75 and 100 mile routes. The time trial is available along designated sections of each of these routes to all riders at no additional cost. Stay tuned for additional details on the location and for this new option!

The Hearing Loss Association of Albany (HLAA) is a volunteer organization for persons with hearing loss, their friends, families, and communities. Join them for a walk to raise awareness across the Walkway.

Join Villa Veritas Foundation for a walk to raise funds and awareness for addiction recovery. Villa Veritas takes a holistic approach to the healthcare practices it employs in the treatment of alcohol and drug addiction. Their treatment is designed to address the whole person: body, mind and spirit. This event is a celebration for families of those recovering as well.

The Grace Smith House is a private not-for-profit domestic violence agency, which provides both residential and non-residential services to victims of domestic violence and their children. Join them in a walk to raise money for their shelter and programing as well as to raise awareness of this often overlooked problem.

The Fourth Annual Mid-Hudson Walk for ALS will take place on Sunday, Oct. 21. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m.; walk begins at 11 a.m.The walk will take place at Walkway Over the Hudson, starting from the Highland side. Shuttle buses available from the Hannaford's shopping center on Route 9W south of the Mid-Hudson Bridge.

More than 1,000 participants are expected to cross the Walkway to support those afflicted with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) commonly called Lou Gehrig's Disease, which affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. There is no known cure. Money from the walk will be used for research and for a local support group, equipment and other services for those suffering from ALS and their families.
