The Fourth Annual Mid-Hudson Walk for ALS will take place on Sunday, Oct. 21. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m.; walk begins at 11 a.m.The walk will take place at Walkway Over the Hudson, starting from the Highland side. Shuttle buses available from the Hannaford's shopping center on Route 9W south of the Mid-Hudson Bridge.
More than 1,000 participants are expected to cross the Walkway to support those afflicted with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) commonly called Lou Gehrig's Disease, which affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. There is no known cure. Money from the walk will be used for research and for a local support group, equipment and other services for those suffering from ALS and their families.

The Grace Smith House is a private not-for-profit domestic violence agency, which provides both residential and non-residential services to victims of domestic violence and their children. Join them in a walk to raise money for their shelter and programing as well as to raise awareness of this often overlooked problem.

The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation improves the quality of life for children with pediatric brain tumors and their families by pairing them with college and high school athletic teams. The FoJ program has grown incredibly to over 300 children who have been adopted by high school and college teams across the country. The magical FoJ is only just beginning! Join the Friends of Jaclyn in a walk across the bridge to raise money and awareness for their cause.
