Summer is here, come learn kayaking with us! This wonderful summertime paddle is a great way to learn a new fun way to spend time outside. The Park Naturalist will lead this beginner's paddle around the lake pointing out signs of summer and other wonderful sights that are more enjoyable from an up-close perspective given by a kayak. Reservations are required with 24 hours advanced notice, please call 793-0511.

Programs are weather permitting and are subject to change. Please call the park office to confirm event date, time and location. Participants should be prepared to spend time outside and are encouraged to wear appropriate clothing and footwear. There is a program fee of $2 for adults and children and $1 for seniors. Full Moon Hike

Gary, our Park Naturalist, will be leading this month's Full Moon Hike. While walking around the lake, Gary will point out flora and fauna as the sun is setting and the moon is rising. Our Park Manager will be tending to a grill full of hot dogs, which you can enjoy after the hike if you would like. Please call for reservations, 793-0511.

Join a seasoned fisherman for a lesson on lake shore fishing. You will learn some fun and easy tricks of the trade and perhaps even reel in the big one. This will be a hike in the park focused on learning the fundamentals of Leave No Trace. This is helpful for both backpackers and casual hikers of any age. You will go for a fun hike in the park, look for signs of any cool wildlife, and learn about the steps you can take to properly preserve our wildlife habitat, while leaving minimal impact. You will be climbing about half way up the mountain range and walking through some special places our educator will point out as well as stop to enjoy. Please bring water on this hike. This short, moderate hike has a few steep sections, which will take participants to the top of the Palmertown Range. This nature filled day is free for the whole family. There will be a lot of fun crafts and activities for the kids as well as educational booths to impress the whole family. All donations collected will go to The Friends of Moreau Lake. The Friends of Moreau support the nature center, educational classes as well as offering crafts and special events for the park.
