Moreau Overlook Hike

This hike will be a short, steep trek up to the overlook, and will take us past some beautiful views as well as through some wonderful forests. Reservations are required with 24 hours advanced notice, 518-793-0511.

Participants should be prepared to spend time outside and are encouraged to wear adequate clothing and footwear. There is a program fee of $2 for adults and children and $1 for seniors.

Ever wonder how to perfectly filet a freshly caught fish? Come and have a lesson from the Park Naturalist, who has mastered this skill.

Please come and participate in a very informative fishing and casting demo. A seasoned fisherman will be on the beach teaching some tricks for a perfect cast, as well as sharing some tips on catching "the big one." This is a family friendly event. Please call to make a reservation, 793-0511.

Summer is here, come kayaking with us! This wonderful paddle is great for all levels, including beginners. The Park Naturalist will lead this paddle around the lake, pointing out signs of wildlife and other wonderful sights that are even more enjoyable from an up-close perspective given by a kayak. The Park Educator will be doing a special tour of the nature center. This will include naming all the animals and sharing some information about each. NY has a lot of animals people would not expect to see... but you have a chance to come and learn about some of them as well as ask questions.
