We will learn about the different types of salamanders found in Spa Park, their lifecycles, and other interesting facts about these amphibians. This is a free program, but registration is required. Frog Watch!

Help the Park Naturalist study the frogs that live in Saratoga Spa State Park! We will learn many different frog calls before walking through the wetlands in search of the amphibians. Please bring a flashlight and dress for wet ground. Registration is required. Fee is $3 per person or $5 per family. Please call 518-584-2000 Ext. 116 to register.

Spring Wildflower Walk

Enjoy a relaxing walk around the park while learning about the medicinal qualities, legends, and folklores surrounding the wildflowers that grow here. Open to all ages. This is a free program, but registration is required. Please call 518-584-2000 Ext. 150 to register.

Various projects - all will meet at the lawn area near Administration Building. Gloves advised for all activities.

1: Volunteers will help to clean up the Peerless Pool all ages welcome. Please bring your own rakes, shovels & bug spray.

2: Volunteers will spread stone dust at 2 different locations, appropriate for ages 13 & up. Please bring water, shovels, stone rakes & bug spray.

3: Volunteers will spread woodchips, all ages welcome. Please bring water, rakes, shovels & bug spray.

4: Volunteers will assemble a picnic table. Ages 18 and up.

5: Volunteers will plant shrubs, trees & flowers & assist with invasive species removal. All ages. Poison ivy may be present in some areas.

6: Clean-up at various locations. All ages. Poison ivy may exist in some areas. Rakes advised, the park will have limited tools.

7: All ages welcome to spread mulch over garden areas. Rakes & shovels advised, the park will have limited tools.

8: Clean up the Administration building perimeter, including sweeping arcades. Brooms are advised, the park will have limited tools.
