The Nature Center is on a barrier island beach within Jones Beach State Park. An exhibit area depicts a variety of marine habitats including the South Shore Estuary Reserve, the seashore and the dune environment. There are lots of fun things for kids to do. Inside the center, children can feel live marine animals, look through a children's microscope or play in the kid's activity area. Outside the center, children can dig up whale bones in the Discovery Bone Cove, walk through the butterfly garden or view a shipwreck.

An environmental boardwalk takes you out into the dune environment to see plants and animals that live there. Interpretive programs are available for schools, youth organizations, clubs and the general public.

The following activities are accessible to persons with disabilities: Group Tours - Reservations Required, Guided Tours, Interpretive Signs and Educational Services

Join us for the Bethpage Air Show on Memorial Day weekend: The show sees the return of the United States Navy Blue Angels as headliners. Also performing will be the US Army Golden Knight Parachute Team, Royal Canadian Airforce Snowbirds, Breitling Jet Team, Sean D. Tucker, Matt Chapman, John Klatt, Screamin Sasquatch, GEICO Skytypers, American Airpower Museum Warbirds, David Windmiller, and SUNY Farmingdale Aviation

The Air Show is free to the public, but the standard $10.00 vehicle use fee will be collected each day upon entry to the Park. For 2016 NYS Empire Passport holders, there is no vehicle use fee charge.
